ReNew Power Ventures Limited has commissioned a 250 MW solar photovoltaic power plant in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The plant is the second largest solar farm of ReNew Power, with the first being in Maharashtra. Power from the Bikaner plant would be supplied at Rs 2.72 per unit to Maharashtra. With this, ReNew Power has become the eleventh renewable energy firm globally to reach 5,000 MW of installed capacity. Of this, 3,100 MW is wind and 1,900 MW is solar. The company plans to reach a capacity of 8,000 MW by July 2020, with an additional 3,000 MW of capacity being set up under tenders of NTPC Limited and the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
