Energy Commission of Malaysia reduces surcharge for non-domestic consumers

The Energy Commission of Malaysia has announced that the electricity tariff for domestic consumers will be maintained, while the surcharge for non-domestic consumers will be reduced, with effect from January 1, 2020 until June 30, 2020. With this, 7.4 million domestic consumers would be exempted from paying the surcharge. Further, RM 376.45 million will be released to consumers in peninsular Malaysia through imbalance cost pass-through surcharge from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2020.
