German government disburses $35 million in grants to the Cambodia

The German government has disbursed $33 million in concessional loans and $2 million in grants to the Cambodian government for a project that aims to electrify rural areas by 2020. The project will be run by the state-owned utility Electricite du Cambodge. The funds will be used to build two substations in Siem Reap province and a 320 km transmission network spanning the provinces of Siem Reap, Oddar Meanchey and Preah Vihear.
