The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) has signed a KWD 29.5 million loan agreement with Bahrain’s utility, Electricity & Water Authority, for the expansion of the 400 kV transmission network in the country. The loan amount will be utilised for the construction of three 220/400 kV substations in the Al-Hidd, Umm Al-Hassam and Riffa areas, and a 400 kV substation in the Ras Legrain area. It aims to reduce current fluctuation for the safe operation of equipment and transmit power reliably and economically throughout the country.
