The South Korean cable company LS Cable & System Limited has signed an agreement with the Egypt-based power line company MAN Contracting, for establishing a JV named LS MAN Cables for the manufacture of overhead lines in Egypt. The construction of the JV plant will be in an industrial city near Cairo and is expected to be completed by the end of 2020. The manufacturing unit will have the capacity to produce 2,500 km of overhead wires per year. The South Korean company aims to expand its business in the Middle Eastern and African countries, as the demand for power is increasing due to rising population and urbanisation.
