Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS) has completed shipment of its JAC (J-Series Air Cooled) combined cycle gas turbines in Thailand. The turbines will be installed at a 2,650 MW gas-based power plant being developed in Chonburi province. The project is being developed by a joint venture (JV) between the Gulf Energy Development Public Company, which is one of Thailand’s largest independent power producers and the Japan-based Mitsui & Company. Another, 2,650 MW gas-based plant is being built in Rayong province. The two plants are expected to be commissioned in 2021.
