NTPC commissions first unit of Darlipali STPS in Odisha

NTPC Limited has commissioned the first 800 MW unit of the 1,600 MW Darlipali Super Thermal Power Project in Sundargarh district, Odisha. With this, the total installed capacity of the NTPC and the NTPC Group has become 49,695 MW and 58,156 MW respectively. The plant will obtain coal from NTPC’s Dulanga and Pakri Barwadih captive coal blocks and source water from the Hirakund reservoir on the Mahanadi river. It is being constructed by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and L&T Power.
