GE T&D India secures contract from Powergid for 765 kV GIS substation

GE T&D India Limited has secured a contract from Powergrid for constructing 765 kV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) substation bays at Phagi in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The Phagi substation is part of the Ajmer–Phagi 765 kV line, which would facilitate the evacuation of 1,000 MW of renewable energy from solar parks at Bhadla, Fatehpur and Bikaner. The scope of the project includes end-to-end commissioning of GIS bays, including substation automation and relay panels. The bays would be an extension of RVPNL’s existing 765 kV substation at Phagi, commissioned by GE using air-insulated switchgear technology.
