NTPC has signed an agreement with the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) for providing financial support for the installation and commissioning of continuous ambient air quality monitoring stations (CAAQMS). NTPC will provide a financial support of Rs 800 million for the installation of 25 CAAQMS across six states and three union territories. Data gathered from these stations will be used as input for air quality index evaluation for the respective cities. In a separate development, NTPC has invited expression of interest (EoI) from fly ash users and ash traders for fly ash utilisation. The fly ash will be procured from the NTPC’s Vindhyachal, Rihand, Korba and Sipat super thermal power stations.
