NTPC’s power stations are performing at their optimum level under support and guidance from the Ministry of Power. The company is also efficiently managing coal supplies for continuous supply of electricity. While ensuring round-the-clock power supply, NTPC is adhering strictly to the guidelines regarding the lockdown and social distancing. Beyond power output, the PSU is making rich contribution to social welfare activities for underprivileged people and migrant workers by providing rations and medical aid. The NTPC management is monitoring the developments closely to ensure every corner of the country remains adequately powered in its fight against Covid-19. Among its fleet of power stations, NTPC Vindhyachal, the largest power station in the country, achieved over 100 per cent PLF on April 13, 2020 and the second 660 MW unit of India’s first ultra-supercritical power station, NTPC Khargone, became commercial during this period, demonstrating NTPC’s commitment to excellence in operations despite the lockdown.
