CERC notifies Sharing of Inter-State Transmission Charges and Losses Regulations, 2020

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has notified the Sharing of Inter-State Transmission Charges and Losses Regulations, 2020. The regulations will supersede the existing Sharing Regulations, 2010. The new regulations have reviewed the existing point of connection mechanism for determining transmission charges. The yearly transmission charges comprising charges of interstate transmission system licensees and intra-state transmission lines will now be recovered on a monthly basis under four components – national component (renewable energy and HVDC), regional component, transformer component and AC system component. The regulations will come into effect at a date notified by the commission.
