C&I consumers write to ERC seeking waiver on fixed charges

The industrial and commercial consumers in West Bengal have written to the electricity regulatory commission seeking a waiver on fixed charges for a period of one year. The electricity demand is estimated to have declined by 30 per cent for CESC Limited, by 20-25 per cent for West Bengal Electricity Distribution Company Limited, and by 40 per cent for DVC. States such as Maharashtra and Punjab have already offered such benefits to their industrial and commercial consumers.
