Pakistan’s National Transmission and Despatch Company connects HVAC system

Pakistan’s state-owned, high voltage network developer National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited has connected the HVDC system with a high voltage AC (HVAC) system for the first time in the country. The government has planned the installation of about 4,000 MW of power plants, including imported coal-based power plants at Bin Qasim and in the Thar area in the south. These power plants will be connected with the 500 kV Matiari switching station via 500 kV HVAC transmission lines.
