Semborp Industries signs 25-year PPA for 60 MW floating solar plant in Singapore

Singapore-based integrated energy company Sembcorp Industries has signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for its 60 MW floating solar plant Tengeh Reservoir with the national water agency, the Public Utilities Board (PUB). The agreement follows PUB’s announcement on February 10, 2020 that it has appointed Sembcorp to design, build, own and operate this project. The project is expected to be fully operational in 2021. The solar power generated from the plant will meet the day-to-day energy needs for operations at PUB’s five local waterworks, including the Marina Barrage. This will make Singapore one of the few countries in the world to achieve 100 per cent green waterworks, when the project is completed.
