R-Infra in talks with Torrent Power to sell its stake in Delhi discoms

Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra) has reportedly initiated negotiations with Torrent Power to sell its 51 per cent stake each in its two Delhi discoms- BRPL and BYPL – for an expected enterprise valuation of Rs 50 billion.

According to news reports, RInfra is expecting a valuation of Rs 50 billion, inclusive of its debt. Earlier, Italy’s Enl Group, Torrent and Greenko Group had submitted competiting bids. The Delhi government owns 49 per cent in the power distribution business.
