Power demand falls slightly to 9.76 percent in June’s third week

During the third week of June 2020, power demand has come down to 9.76 per cent from 10.5 per cent in the second week of June 2020.

The slump in power demand was reported at 19.7 per cent during the first week of June. The decline so far, however, still exceeds 8.8 per cent reported in May 2020. As per power ministry data, owing to the intensification of the heat wave, power demand improved in the third week of June, and it hovered around 162 GW from June 15, 2020 onwards and shot up to 164.64 GW on June 19, 2020.
