ANDRITZ to supply complete electromechanical equipment for Kiru hydropower plant

ANDRITZ has received the contract from Indian utility company Chenab Valley Power Projects Limited to supply the complete electromechanical equipment for the run-of-the-river Kiru hydropower plant (624 MW) located on the Chenab river in Kishtwar district in Jammu & Kashmir. The company received the contract through an international competitive bidding process. The project would generate 2272.02 MUs in a 90% dependable year.The contract valued at over €50 million will entail a scope of delivery that will include supply, design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of four numbers turbines and generators, associated accessories and auxiliaries, auxiliary electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, 400 kV GIS and 400 kV outdoor pothead yard equipment. The contract will be executed by ANDRITZ’s Indian subsidiary with its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Mandideep (near Bhopal) and Prithla (near Faridabad).
