R-Power plans a Rs 33 billion capex

Reliance Power is undertaking a capex of nearly Rs 33 billion to install flue gas desulfurisation (FGDs) in its coal-based plants.

The company operates three coal-based plants at Sasan in Madhya Pradesh (3,960 WM), Rosa in Uttar Pradesh (1,320 MW) and Butibori in Maharashtra (600 MW). The Sasan ultra mega power project achieved a PLF of 96 per cent and captive mines linked to project produced 18.7 million tonnes of coal in 2019-20. Going forward, the company plans to focus will be on value accretive growth opportunities while remaining financially conservative and capital-light, operation and maintenance services for power plants, mine developer and operator services for coal mines, and the recently-launched commercial coal mining opportunities.
