Punjab, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh discoms seek Rs 146.64 billion loans under liquidity package

Punjab, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh have cumulatively sought Rs 146.64 billion from Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC) and Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (REC) under the Rs 900 billion special liquidity infusion package announced earlier by the government.

Reportedly, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Bihar, and Tamil Nadu have also sought working capital loans amounting to Rs 243.31 billion. The total request for loans so far stands at about Rs 931.38 billion. To borrow from the scheme, PFC and REC will issue bonds based on the initial demand from these states.
