Brazil’s Electricity Regulatory Agency approves emergency assistance of $3 billion for power companies

Brazil’s Electricity Regulatory Agency, Aneel, has approved a loan package of BRL 16 billion ($3.10 billion) for power distribution companies.

Brazil’s discoms including CPFL Energia SA, Energisa SA and Equatorial Energia SA, have called for relief due to a decline in demand and higher customer delinquency levels owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
