CIL, NLC India plan JV to develop 3,000 MW of solar power capacity

Coal India Limited (CIL) and NLC India plan to jointly develop solar power assets of 3,000 MW with a likely investment of around Rs 120 billion.

CIL and NLC India would form a JV to develop 5,000 MW of solar and thermal power assets across the country. Reportedly, a solar JV is already in the process of formation with an initial capital outlay of Rs 1 million. CIL’s current installed solar capacity is 4.83 MW capacity, with annual generation of around 4.6 MUs.
