Jammu inaugurates 49 power projects for reliable electricity supply

About 49 electricity projects, built at a cost of Rs 811.50 million for augmenting power distribution infrastructure at the 33/11 kV level in the union territory have been inaugurated in Jammu.

The projects primarily include construction of new 33/11 kV substations and capacity enhancement of existing substations. The projects inaugurated included underground cabling work at Patnitop tourist spot, new substation at Birpur for the industrial complex Bari Brahmna, power transformers of different capacities at 10 locations in Jammu, Kathua and Reasi districts, as well as commencement of works for seven new substations in Rajouri, Poonch and Jammu, to be executed at a cost of Rs 173 million, with expected completion over a period of six months to add 38.9 MVA at the 33/11 kV level and benefit about 6,500 domestic and commercial installations.
