Manufacture of steam generator for fifth unit at Kudankulam begins

Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation has started manufacturing a set of steam generators for the fifth 1,000 MW unit to be set up in Kudankulam nuclear plant in Tamil Nadu.

Central PSU Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) is building four more plants of 1,000 MW each in Kudankulam in Tirunelveli district namely, Units 3,4,5 and 6. The first two units of similar power generation capacity had gone on stream long back and the construction of the third and fourth units are underway.
