DERC reduces fixed power charges for unutilised capacity by industrial, commercial segments

The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has ordered a reduction in fixed charges for unutilised capacity of sanctioned load or contract demand by Rs 125 for the months of April and May when the lockdown was imposed as a relief to industrial and non-domestic consumers.

The expected impact of the waiver is around Rs 1.60 billion. The move will benefit around 44,000 industrial consumers and around one million non-domestic (commercial) consumers. The total unutilised capacity during this period was 80 per cent, out of which, 84 per cent pertains to non-domestic consumers and 75 per cent industrial consumers.
