UPTCL to increase transmission capacity

Uttar Pradesh Transmission Corporation Limited (UPTCL), plans to increase its current transmission capacity in line with the expected spike in power demand to the 26,500-MW level by 2021.

To facilitate the increased demand and ensure uninterrupted power supply, 50 new power transmission substations are being added to the current 550 substations in the state. In addition, the state’s total transfer capability of electricity, will be increased to 14,000 MW, while the power transmission capacity will be enhanced to 28,000 MW.
