Nalco in process of augmenting wind power capacity to 223.90 MW

National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco) is in the process of increasing its wind power generation capacity to 223.90 MW by adding a 25.5 MW project in Tamil Nadu at a capital expenditure of Rs 1,630 million.

While substantial progress has been made on supply and execution of equipment, the project is yet to be completed as the executing agency, REGen Powertech Private Limited has been facing a cash crunch and has subsequently been referred to National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), which has engaged an Insolvency Resolution Professional (IRP).  Nalco has so far established wind power plants of 198.4 MW capacity in various states.
