Siemens bags Egyptian contract to connect Bashaer El Khair City to national grid

The German multinational conglomerate, Siemens Energy, has bagged a turnkey contract from the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) for connecting the Bashaer El Khair residential complex in Alexandria city, to the country’s national grid network.

The grid project will help supply power to more than 25,000 residential units in over 250 apartment buildings and service centres. The contract involves the design, engineering, construction, installation and commissioning of the 66/11 kV station, equipped with gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), power transformers (including its installation and commissioning), control systems, and protection and telecommunication equipment. It will be fast-tracked and is expected to be operational in July 2021.
