The national plant load factor (PLF) of thermal power stations registered a marginal decline from 60.3 per cent in 2018-19 to 55.99 per cent in 2019-20.
The total installed power generation capacity stood at over 370 GW as of March 2020. Thermal capacity had a share of 62 per cent followed by renewables, hydel and nuclear. In terms of ownership, the private sector dominated with a 46 per cent share.
