BI Energia formalises 624 MW offshore wind plan in Brazil

Italian-Brazilian energy company BI Energia has signed a protocol of intentions with the Rio Grande do Norte state government for the implementation of a 624 MW offshore wind project.

Consisting of 52 wind turbines of 12 MW each, the facility will cover an area of 300 square km. The project includes two substations, one offshore and one onshore. Further, the project is expected to take two to three years to commence works.
