Jammu and Kashmir government to liquidate liabilities by raising over Rs 110 billion under Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan

According to the Jammu and Kashmir state government, it would liquidate the liabilities, including interests in the power sector, by raising over Rs 110 billion under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. .

This measure is going to relieve the state power department of the liabilities and interest accruing from it and infuse new lease of life into its subsidiary companies constituted after disbundling of the power department. Meanwhile, the department also requested the central government for enhancing the allocation of power supply for winter months, as the region faces a deficit of 1,200-1,400 MWs during that period.
