Mitsubishi Power wins contract to build 1,400 MW gas-fired plant in Thailand

Mitsubishi Power has signed a contract with Hin Kong Power for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a 1,400 MW natural gas-fired turbine combined cycle (GTCC) in Thailand. .

The facility, to be built about 100 km west of Bangkok, will house two M701JAC gas turbines provided by Mitsubishi Power. The contract includes a 25 year long-term service agreement. Power generated by the plant will be sold to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). Further, the facility’s commercial operation will start in March 2024 and January 2025.
