Vietnam’s first private firm-invested 500 kV power transmission line reaches completion

Trung Nam Construction Investment Corporation (Trung Nam Group), private power developer in Vietnam, recently completed the construction of the 500/220 kV substation and power transmission line in Vietnam’s central province of Ninh Thuan. .

The aforementioned line is the first 500 kV line to be constructed by a private firm in the country. It is a part of the larger 450 MWp Trung Nam Thuan Nam solar power project, which also includes substations and power lines, with a total investment of VND12 trillion. The substation comprises two transformers designed and manufactured by the German multinational conglomerate, Siemens Energy, with a total capacity of 1,800 MVA. The power transmission line, panning out an area of 17 km, connects the Thuan Nam district and Tuy Phong district in central Binh Thuan province.
