The Andhra Pradesh government is planning to roll out electricity meters for agricultural consumers.
The meters will be installed free of cost for farmers across the state. Complete metering of agricultural connections would enable the state discoms assess the actual requirement of power in the agriculture sector and therefore plan power supply accordingly. Further, the state government would directly pay the money for power bills into the bank accounts of farmers.
