Kerala initiates construction of 400 kV substation

The Kerala government has initiated the construction of a 400 kV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) substation at Kuruvilangadu in Kottayam.

The substation will receive power from the Kudamkulam power line and redistribute it through six feeders. The state government has allocated Rs 2.85 billion through the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) for completing the project.
