Energy task force committee allocates Rs 9.75 billion to strengthen power transmission in Lucknow

The energy task force (ETF) committee of Uttar Pradesh has carried forward the plans of strengthening the power transmission sector of Lucknow by allocating a total budget of Rs 9.75 billion to the state.

The projects that are proposed to be taken up by the energy department entail the construction of a 400/200/132 kV substation at Mohanlalganj, a 765 kV transmission line in the Ghatampur─Hapur stretch, a 765 kV line in Rampur, and a 400 kV line in the Ataur─Indirapuram stretch. The construction for all the proposed projects would be carried out through the public-private-partnership mode while following competitive bidding. The ETF has also given the green light for various other projects in the state, amounting to Rs 2.46 billion. They involve laying of transmission lines of 220 kV and 132 kV in Mohanlalganj, and constructing a 133/33 kV substation in Padrauna, Kushinagar.
