Indonesia’s PLN completes construction of Sulbar-Central Sulawesi interconnection

Indonesia’s state-owned power company, PT PLN (Persero), has completed the construction of the West Sulawesi (Sulbar) to Central Sulawesi interconnection, which consists of 534 towers that cross a 370.16-kmlong circuit, panning across the Mamuju and Central Mamuju districts to North Mamuju District. .

This completion was a result of the finalised operations of the 150 kV Topoyo─Pasangkayu transmission line and substation in Topoyo, followed by the initial operation of the transmission network that stretches from the 150 kV Mamuju Baru substation in Mamuju Regency to the 150 kV Topoyo substation in Central Mamuju Regency. The interconnection will help evacuate power from the Central Sulawesi region, along with better power supply capacity, quality and reliability in both the regions.
