Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited (GETCO) has re-launched a bid under the green energy corridor (GEC) project funded by KfW Entwicklungsbank (KfW Bank).
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) sanctioned the project in 2016, for evacuation of large-scale renewable energy from the states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The intra-state transmission component of the project is being implemented by the respective states and Powergrid is implementing the inter-state transmission component. The scope of work under the contract has been divided into two lots, and entails undertaking the supply, erection, testing and commissioning of power transformers and reactors. The first lot covers the aforementioned works for 1×125 MVAr, 400 kV reactor, whereas the second lot involves the same for three units of 160 MVA, 220/66 kV power transformers. The last date for submission of bids is December 15, 2020.
