OPTCL commissions 132/33 kV grid substation and power line in Indian state

Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) has recently commissioned a 132/33 kV grid station at Brajabiharipur and an associated 4-km-long line, as extension of the existing 132 kV Bidanasi–Chandaka transmission line, in Cuttack, Odisha.

The projects have been implemented under the ‘State Capital Region Improvement of Power System Scheme’. The newly constructed substation is expected to serve as an alternative to the existing 132/33 kV Bidanasi GS by providing reliable power supply to the state capital Cuttack and nearby areas, including Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) Sectors 12 and 13. The substation comprises five 132 kV bays, eight 33 kV bays and two 40 MVA, 132/33 kV power transformers.
