Australian NSW government introduces new electricity infrastructure roadmap

The New South Wales (NSW) government has recently put out a new electricity infrastructure roadmap that foresees adding 12 GW of renewable energy and 2 GW of energy storage capacity by 2030.

The roadmap is expected to deliver approximately 12 GW of new transmission capacity through the Central-West Orana, New England and South West Renewable Energy Zones by 2030, whilst creating over 9,000 jobs and attracting AUD32 billion of private sector investment in electricity infrastructure. Meanwhile, AUD50 million has been allocated by the NSW government towards energy storage projects.
