NVVNL organises hackathon to deal with farm fires and residue

The union power and new and renewable energy minister, R K Singh, has launched the Green Charcoal Hackathon, organised by NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVNL).

The purpose of the event is to leverage the innovative Indian mind to bridge the technology gap with the prime objective to clean the air by eliminating farm fire, producing renewable energy out of the agro residue, to promote local entrepreneurship, and to increase the income of the farmers. The hackathon focuses on deliberating on technology to convert farm residue into green charcoal in the pursuit of reducing carbon footprint.
