Goa inaugurates a first-of-its-kind 1 MW pilot integrated renewable energy solution

A 1 MW pilot project, the first-of-its-kind convergence project in the country that integrates the delivery of clean, renewable decentralised energy with energy efficient pump-sets and LED lamps for rural homes, was recently inaugurated in Goa. The pilot is a part of an ambitious 100 MW decentralised solar project. The 100 MW project will be implemented by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL). It will be implemented on unused or degraded land across Goa. The total investment of Rs 4.5 billion will be borne by CESL and is expected to result in savings of Rs 25 billion for the state over the life of the project.
