Mizoram enters country’s solar power map with 2 MW plant

Mizoram has commissioned a 2 MW capacity solar power plant, earning a place on India’s solar map.  

The solar power plant is built at a cost of Rs 140 million at Tlungvel in Aizawl district and spread over five acres with 5,340 solar modules. The plant is expected to generate 3 million units and Rs 16.9 million in revenue annually. According to power department officials, solar power plants of 20 MW and 5 MW capacity are under construction at Vankal in Khawzawl district and near Saitual town.
