Philippine NGCP receives go-ahead for construction of PHP727 million substation

The concessionaire for the Philippine transmission network, National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), has recently received a go-ahead from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) to pursue its PHP727 million, 230 kV substation project in Calamba, Laguna to improve its power service and meet the growing power demand in the province.

The 600 MVA substation will serve the industrial parks in Laguna and Batangas, and ease the load from the existing Malamig and Calauan substations during power outages, which would in turn secure power transmission in Laguna.
