Considering the Covid-19 impact, MPERC has only allowed 1.98 per cent hike and spared low-use commercial and domestic consumers. Further, the monthly meter rent charged by discoms from consumers has been withdrawn for the first time and now there will be no meter rent. The new tariff will be applicable after seven days of discoms publishing the notice.
