The states include Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Sikkim and Telangana, while the UTs are Jammu and Kashmir and Puducherry. NTPC has stated that it will be forced to shut-off or restrict power supply if these states and UTs fail to clear their dues. Reportedly, discoms owe NTPC around Rs 192.16 billion.
