Chandigarh plans to produce 60 MW solar energy in next two years

The UT administration of Chandigarh has planned to generate more than 60 MW of solar energy in 2021and 2022.

The Chandigarh Renewable Energy and Science and Technology Promotion Society (Crest), the nodal agency to install solar plants in Chandigarh, has already prepared a plan, which will be implemented with the coordination of different departments, including electricity department, municipal corporation, education department, engineering department and prisons department. As of now, the administration has achieved a target of 37.5 MW.
