The West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission (WBERC) has approved the investment proposal of West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) for electrification of agricultural pump sets under Rapid Electrification of Agricultural Pump Sets (REAPS) scheme. ….
The commission has approved the proposal of Rs 12,053.70 million, which includes consumer contribution of Rs 217.20 million under REAPS. The commission ordered that on completion of the project, WBSEDCL will submit the date of commercial operation and a cost-benefit analysis of the project separately before the commission. Also, in case of escalation in project cost, WBSEDCL will have to take due approval form the commission before capitalisation of assets.
