Eaton, a global power management company, has launched an industry-first data centre solution, EnergyAware UPS, using UPS-as-a-reserve (UPSaaR) in India. The solution will enable data centres to contribute to renewable energy and earn from their UPS investments. As per estimates, a data centre could receive about $60,000 per MW per year for its non-used capacity. EnergyAware is designed for data centre applications and can be used in any high-capacity IT load, whether industrial or manufacturing. The EnergyAware Solution has been recognised by Frost & Sullivan in the Indian UPS industry as a reserve system for data centres.
