NTPC’s profit after tax rises by 10.69 per cent

NTPC Limited has reported an increases of 10.69 per cent in its profit after tax (PAT) to Rs 33.15 billion in the quarter ended December 2020 from Rs 29.95 billion in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. On nine-month basis, the company’s PAT stood Rs 92.90 billion as against Rs 88.60 billion during same period in 2019-20.

The gross generation of NTPC in the quarter ended December 2020 stood 65.42 billion units (BUs) as against 61.21 BUs during the corresponding period of previous year registering an increase of 6.87 per cent. During April-December 2020 the gross generation of NTPC stood 193.28 BUs as against 191.35 BUs during same period of previous year. NTPC coal stations have achieved PLF of 62.29 per cent during April-December 2020 as against the national average PLF of 51.50 per cent. On standalone basis, during April-December 2020, total income of the company stood Rs 252.68 billion as against Rs 240.22 billion in the corresponding period of previous year, registering an increase of 5.19 per cent. On nine-month basis, the total income of NTPC stood at Rs 753.12 billion as against Rs 721.99 billion during same period in 2019-20, registering an increase of 4.31 per cent.
