Private majors including Adani, Renew Power, Greenco and JSW Energy have sought special incentives from the state government of Rajasthan to set up 34.2 GW solar projects and a component manufacturing facility with a capacity of 2 GW.
Once approved, these projects are estimated to bring in investments of close to Rs 1,500 billion, including revenues of about Rs 100 billion to the government. Adani, Renew Power and Greenco have given 3-5 years deadline to bring these project on-stream while JSW Energy has sought a period of 10 years.
